Mission/Vision Statement

The following statements show the Safecam commitment to casualty reduction.

Mission Statement

To reduce casualties by encouraging people to observe speed limits and red traffic lights through education and enforcement.

Vision Statement

By 2010, Safecam will

• Have reduced vehicle speeds and casualties on the roads where these problems exist together
• Have reduced red light jumping and casualties on the roads where these problems exist together
• Have increased public awareness of the importance of speed limits in reducing the number and severity of casualties
• Be seen as an organisation in that adopts an open and transparent approach to all the aspects of its work
• Overcome constraints in consultation with all stakeholders by operating a problem solving approach
• Be delivering a road safety strategy that is an integral part of the work of all partners, and which has the respect of the whole community
